Video Professor honors Veterans in a big way!

The employees of Video Professor arrived to work early on a cold Monday morning to display thanks to our veterans and our community! Before the sun rose, employees and Seasons Club members gathered in the parking lot to place 150 flags along Video Professor’s property. Located close to the corner of Union and 2nd Place, Video Professor was able to remind the hundreds of cars passing to join in honoring all who have served in the name of our country.

Veterans Day is especially meaningful to Video Professor, Inc. due to the large number of employees and employee families and friends who have served in the military. Our own John W. Scherer, CEO, represents some of our finest as a veteran of the US Army reserves and continues to devote his time and resources to supporting our veterans and active duty troops.

Veterans Day, originally named Armistice Day, dates back to 1918 and the “temporary cessation of hostilities”, marking the beginning of the end of World War I. The national holiday was renamed Veterans Day after World War II, in 1954. President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed November 11 a day to commemorate, thank and honor all who have served in the military.

How does Video Professor celebrate these brave individuals? As with most holidays, Video Professor employees like to celebrate big; 38 feet big! People visiting or driving by our campus got to see 38 feet of red, white and blue streaming from the side of our main building accompanied by 150 smaller flags adorning the property!

Special thanks to the employees involved in this wonderful tribute to honor!

From all of us here at Video Professor, Happy Veterans Day Lakewood! And let’s remember our veterans and active duty forces every day of the year.
