Video Professor brings holiday spirit to Lakewood

Lakewood, CO – December 13, 2007 – On Thursday, a group of Video Professor employees piled numerous donated gifts into at least five cars to deliver presents to the local Salvation Army. The only thing missing was a red velvet suit trimmed with plush white fur, a decorative winter sleigh, eight speedy reindeer, a large red sack and an extra large fireplace! Here at Video Professor, members of the company’s philanthropic group, Seasons Club, do not need reindeer and a sleigh. They utilize the modern-day SUV to deliver Christmas joy to Lakewood.

In November, Seasons Club promised 75 gift cards to the Salvation Army’s “Holiday Angel Tree Program.” The program asks local families and businesses to donate gifts to families in their local area who cannot afford to celebrate the holidays. Video Professor, a company consisting of less than 200 employees, distributed 75 Angel Tree gift cards within 36 hours! If that isn’t the meaning of the holidays, what is?

In December, the Video Professor elves gathered 36 more tags, each specifying one person’s holiday gift wishes. Although they are meant to buy only one gift per tag, many employees went above and beyond. On Thursday, over 333 gifts were delivered to the Denver Citadel Salvation Army location. Seasons Club members assured each of the 111 tags were accounted for. Most tags were attached to at least two-five gifts: from tricycles to CD players to children’s pajamas and Huggies® diapers. The front entrance of Video Professor was overflowing with presents!

A recent study by the Colorado Nonprofit Association found that Coloradans “earn 6 percent more than the average American, yet give 8 percent less,” making Colorado number 36 out of 50 states for charitable donations! If Video Professor’s 200 employees can donate over 333 gifts to their local Salvation Army, just think how other businesses can help raise Colorado’s ranking!

Video Professor elves would like to encourage all local businesses and communities to contribute to Coloradoans in need. Every little bit counts, to the 2-year-old who opens up his new Tonka® Pickup Truck or the woman who is able to use her new personal foot massager after a long day at work, this could make all the difference and make their holiday special.

A heart-felt thank you to all Video Professor employees who became Lakewood’s elves, and a warm season’s greetings to Colorado!

Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good night!
